While repairs to the water main and water meter are the responsibility of the Alameda County Water District (ACWD), individual customers are responsible for repairs to the service line from the water meter to their home. ACWD has arranged for HomeServe, an independent home repair company separate from Alameda County Water District, to offer optional emergency repair service plans* to Alameda County Water District residential customers for customer-owned utility equipment.
