Email Robert Shaver
Robert Shaver joined the Alameda County Water District (ACWD) as a Project Engineer in 1991 and was appointed as General Manager in December, 2014.
Robert works closely with the ACWD Board of Directors and Executive leadership team to effectively manage a $150 million annual operating and capital expense budget (FY 2019/20) and to ensure that the district is well-positioned and prepared to meet current and future challenges and to continue to provide excellent customer service, including a reliable supply of high quality drinking water at a reasonable cost to the cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City.
He has over 35 years of experience includes numerous aspects of water utility administration,management, planning, design, construction and operations.
Robert actively participates in California legislative and water policy issues and is a member of several technical and water industry organizations. He currently serves as a Board member for the California Urban Water Agencies and serves as the Chair for CalDesal.
Robert is a registered Professional Engineer in California and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, as well as a Certificate in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the Fremont Rotary Club and is a longtime resident of Fremont.
